Really good.

I don’t think I’ve ever really felt this good before.”

The world looks different. You feel different. You feel powerful. Alert. Invincible. So why does it also feel like something is deeply wrong?

From Beardance comes an unfiltered look at living with bipolar disorder from an original first-person perspective. Combining storytelling, dramatic monologue and off-beat comedy, Brighter is a dynamic and inventive exploration of the personal impact living with mental illness in today’s society can have, following writer-performer Rory Francis as he navigates the ups and downs of managing the manic mind. Directed by Charlotte Blandford.

Brighter was performed at the Rotunda Theatre: Squeak as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival 24th-28th May 2023, followed by a run at Applecart Arts 1st-3rd June.

We’re using this opportunity to help fundraise for Bipolar UK - a magnificent and supportive charity that helps those living with bipolar to manage the condition. If you are at all able, please visit our JustGiving page and donate!
